PHARAO BIPOLAR is a filmic pushing of the boundaries between art and sickness. The artist Werner Ludvig Buchmayer has been suffering from a bipolar disorder (once called manic depression) since he was fifteen. The movie accompanies him while he works on shooting his own, “Pharao-Film”. How does someone find themself when they are constantly pulled one way and then the other by two physiological extremes. What shape can the personality take during these changes? And what is the reaction of those around them?
