Mimi needs the help of Ratz, her childhood sweetheart, and so she asks him to come to New York. Ratz has always been willing to drop whatever he’s doing when Mimi calls, and nothing is going right for him in Vienna anyway, what with his overbearing father, his peculiar relationship with his sister, his autistic existence in front of his computer, … It soon turns out that Ratz’s help is needed for renovating the long-time hideout of Mimi's grandfather, a Lithuanian Nazi war criminal. Ratz suddenly finds himself entangled in moral ambiguities, which doesn’t exactly make it easy for his relationship with Mimi.
