Women wearing mask-like makeup describe how they ended up in jail and their experiences inside. In parallel, Tina Leisch accompanies the Schwarzau and Gerasdorf prison theatre groups during rehearsals. The borders start to blur. What is acted and what is real personal account? This loss of certainty leads to the inmates revealing more than their individual, criminal histories, “I'm interested in who she is, not why she’s here.”
