What would happen if there was actually an incident at a nuclear reactor near the country's border? Would the authorities be equipped? Would the population be prepared? Der erste Tag constructs a possible sequence of events for the day after this atomic nightmare scenario. It shows that, though a real emergency can be rehearsed, in reality there are completely different, entirely unexpected problems and the extent of the catastrophe is even greater than originally supposed.
