Presented by Synema in cooperation with the Austrian Film Museum
As the eldest of Rudolf and Luise Gmeyner's three daughters, Anna Gmeyner was born in Vienna on the 16th March 1902. From Berlin, Moscow, Paris and London she arrived in New
York, where she died in 1991. With her writing, she made a considerable contribution to the history of cinema's great success, but despite this her works remain largely unknown. An appreciation of her work as a film writer will remember this extraordinary woman and an up to now very under-appreciated part of her oeuvre.
