Date: 18th / 19th March
As part of Diagonale 2009, the Trilateral Co-production Meeting for German Language Documentary Film takes place in Graz on the 18th and 19th March. The trilateral industry
meeting of three neighbouring countries, Germany, Austria and Switzerland is the successor to two previous successful meetings, taking place in April 2007 in Nyon/Lake Geneva and in October 2007 in Leipzig.
Alongside presentations and panel discussions involving professionals and the various industries, both days provide case studies, one-to-one meetings and opportunities for networking. The co-production meeting in Graz also has the core purpose of promoting cross-border collaboration of production companies, distribution firms, film institutes and subsidising
bodies and to exploit the potential of the shared language area. Specifically in relation to documentary films, the trend towards co-production is impossible to ignore and closely bound
up with the increasing popularity of documentaries.
The two-day co-production meeting in Graz, as part of Diagonale 2009, will concentrate primarily on the cross-border distribution of documentary film.
The industry meeting in Graz is also a collaboration between three countries. The co-production meeting was designed and organised by dok.at (Austrian Documentary Film Syndicate) and the two renowned documentary film festivals DOK Leipzig and Visions du
Réel, Nyon.
